Woollamia Boat Ramp Repairs - December 2020

Wed 09 Dec 2020

Woollamia Boat Ramp repaired

The boat ramp at Woollamia is now back in operation after it was recently closed to boating enthusiasts to allow repairs to be undertaken.

Utilising the low tides in mid November, the broken concrete planks were removed by contractor, Jirgens Civil, and replaced by precast slabs designed by local consulting engineers MIEngineers. This work was successfully undertaken by the Economic Development Office of Shoalhaven City Council and is one of 6 projects currently being delivered in the Woollamia area as part of the City Futures rollout of capital works within the City with funding made available through the NSW Governments Boating Now program.

Council thanks the Jervis Bay Marine Park Authority for their co-operation to make this work happen before the Christmas holiday period.

Woollamia Boat Ramp Car Park

Works are advancing on a carpark at the Woollamia Regional Boat Ramp to provide dedicating parking for cars without trailers. The aim is to provide as much parking as possible for the cars with trailers that utilise the main carpark adjacent to the boat ramp and Council’s City Futures Directorate undertook to create the additional carparking spaces to increase the capacity of the Regional Boat Ramp precinct.

This work is being constructed by local contractor Hisway with part funding from the NSW Governments Growing Local Economies program.

Currambene Creek moorings in the move.

To create space in Currambene Creek to allow commercial vessels to utilise the loading wharf and additional pontoons, several mooring bouys need to be repositioned to allow sufficient fairway for craft to utilise the upcoming facilities.

The scope of works to support the growing number of commercial operating in Jervis Bay is being delivered by Council’s City Futures Directorate with funding secured from all three levels of government as secured by the Economic Development Office. The priority is to have the majority of the works completed by the summer holiday season for the benefit of those businesses that work in our Agribusiness and Tourism sectors
