Looking to bring a business idea to life or innovate and grow an existing business?
The Rise program will help you build the knowledge, skills and network to thrive in your business.
Connect with like minded individuals and expert mentors in your industry.
RISE is an 8 week program delivered online or in person at our UOW Regional Campuses throughout 2024.
The program is made up of:
- Facilitator-led workshops
- Self-paced online learning
- Active learning
- Mentoring sessions with industry experts
and culminates with a live pitch event.
You will be taught how to develop a pitch that you can use to attract paying customers, investors, and the media.
Rise will be running industry targeted programs, however any industry is welcome to apply.
- High Quality Food /Agribusiness - Southern Highlands (May-June)
- Circularity - Bega Valley (May – June)
- Ecotourism - Eurobodalla ( Aug -Sept)
- Advanced Manufacturing – Shoalhaven (Aug-Sept)

Circularity - Bega Valley (May – June)
Industries are exploring how they can be more sustainable by introducing circular economy principles. Scholarships are available to this program.
KEY DATES FOR THE CIRCULARITY PROGRAM
- Express your interest and apply for the program. Applications close February 2024.
- Join the online information session on 8 February 2024. Please join us to learn more about the program, what's involved, how to apply and we can answer any other questions you may have.
- Successful applicants will be notified if they are in the program in March 2024.
- You will join our RISE program in April 2024, which focuses on validation, customer discover and pitch practice, among other topics! Workshops will run on Wednesdays 9.30am to 12.30pm. All participants have the option of joining online or can come together as a group at UOW Bega Valley.
- The program ends with a pitch event in June 2024 to showcase your business and the skills you've developed.
High Quality Food /Agribusiness - Southern Highlands (May-June)
A short information session where RISE will go into more detail about the upcoming High Quality Food Production Accelerator being delivered in 2024 in the Shoalhaven and also available state-wide.
The information session is an online event held via Zoom on Wednesday the 21st of February at 3pm AEDT. The access link will be delivered via email prior to the event. If you have issues accessing online for any reason, you are welcome to join us in Moss Vale at the University of Wollongong Southern Highlands campus.
Advanced Manufacturing – Shoalhaven (Aug-Sept)
A short information session where RISE will go into more detail about the upcoming Advanced Manufacturing Accelerator being delivered in 2024 in the Shoalhaven and also available state-wide.
The information session is an online event held via Zoom on Tuesday 21st of May at 5pm AEDT. The access link will be delivered via email prior to the event. If you have issues accessing online for any reason, you are welcome to join us in West Nowra at the University of Wollongong Shoalhaven campus.
Ecotourism - Eurobodalla ( Aug -Sept)( Aug -Sept)
A short information session where RISE will go into more detail about the upcoming Ecotourism RISE Program delivered by the University of Wollongong's iAccelerate.
The information session is an online event held via Zoom on Wednesday the 22nd of May at 1pm AEDT. The access link will be delivered via email prior to the event. If you have issues accessing online for any reason, you are welcome to join us in Bateman's Bay at the University of Wollongong campus.
