Hello and welcome to the new look edition of SafeWork Southern District News. We have decided to publish the newsletter in the body of the email, however for those of you who like to be able to print and read, we have still attached the PDF version.
Derek is taking a well-earned break this month so Kylie and I have stepped in to bring you the monthly blog. We welcome back Ainslie Lalor who is currently filling in for Derek and has kept everything running smoothly in the Southern Districts.
July has proven to be another busy month for the Nowra & Bega offices with quite a few requests for services (RFS) being lodged and incidents being notified. Some of the callers notifying incidents were not sure if the incident was classed as notifiable. To assist with this, we have included an article “How to report a Serious Incident” in this month’s newsletter, it explains “What is a notifiable incident” and gives you a link to the Fact Sheet. My train of thought is “When in doubt, give us a call”.
Our inspectors have been continuing their site visits regarding forklifts, scaffolding, Schedule 11 premises & asbestos as well as responding to the numerous RFS, Incidents, presentations and advisory visit requests.
