Regional areas and metropolitan city areas can face very different challenges. In the regions access to services and information can be difficult.
To assist, every 2 years, a number of businesses of our region come together to assist all businesses to access information, advice and technical information by running a Safety Conference.
SafeWork gets behind the initiative and looks to make it happen. At our last conference in 2017, approximately 100 businesses from Eden to Chatswood travelled to the Shoalhaven to attend the event.
On 12 June 2019, we will again partner with local businesses to run a conference to ensure that all businesses in our area have access to critical safety information.
The conference will include a keynote speech from Ben Houlison an Australian Paralympian. This will be followed by a safety leadership session, presentations on manual handling, heights safety, youth safety, drugs and alcohol in the workplace, moving plant and many other topics.
An exhibit area will include many of the area's service providers from occupational rehabilitation to PPE providers & workplace health and wellbeing. The conference will be tied together with an action plan to help you take away practical ideas and implement them in your workplace.
