Bushfire Industry Recovery Package . Forestry . Horticulture . Agriculture Industries - Updated 19 May 2020
Tue 19 May 2020
This NSW Government funding package will help forestry, horticulture and agriculture industries impacted by the recent bushfires to rebuild, recover, regrow and remain the heartbeat of regional economies.
Regional NSW relies on agricultural industries to sustain employment and economic activity. This funding package provides the direct assistance many businesses need to recover from devastating losses due to the fires, in turn helping their wider, related industries to remain viable.
The Bushfire Industry Recovery Package offers two funding streams – Sector Development Grants and Supply Chain Support Grants. Both streams will facilitate the immediate, medium and long-term rebuilding of regional NSW’s agricultural industries by:
- helping producers to re-establish and support functional supply chains
- creating and retaining jobs
- strengthening local supply chains
- increasing value-add production and diversification.
Supply chain support grants
This funding stream supports the short-term recovery and resilience of the forestry, horticulture and agriculture industries in NSW impacted by the bushfires from 31 August 2019. Funding is available for projects to help producers and businesses rebuild and recover in the immediate to short term, underpinning job security and enabling future production.
Sector development grants
This funding stream supports the medium to long-term recovery and resilience of forestry, horticulture and agriculture industries in NSW impacted by the bushfires from 31 August 2019. Funding is available for projects focussing on job creation and that increase value-add production, support supply-chain efficiencies, product diversification and market expansion.
